What is PD CEN/TS 16011 – Sample preparation of recycled plastics about?
PD CEN/TS 16011 is a technical specification that covers sample preparation of recycled plastics, enabling sample preparation for physical and chemical analysis of plastics to mitigate their impact on the environment. PD CEN/TS 16011 specifies the preparation of samples of recycled plastics prior to testing and takes account of the specifics of the material. In PD CEN/TS 16011 , the sample preparation should avoid any process that causes 'de-mixing' of the sample. Following preparation, the sample should remain representative. The behaviour of contaminants should be carefully analysed and observed to ensure this is homogeneous.
