Abstract

Overview

ISO 9735-11:2022 defines a Version 3 compatible profile for Version 4 of ISO 9735 (EDIFACT). Its purpose is to provide profiling rules that let organizations migrate from EDIFACT syntax version 3 (ISO 9735:1988 / Amd.1:1992) to syntax version 4 (ISO 9735:1998) with minimum effort and cost. The document scopes the syntax restrictions, conformance requirements and implementation guidance needed to preserve backward compatibility while adopting the newer syntax release.
