Steel, concrete and composite bridges - Part 6: Specification for materials and workmanship, steel Executive summary Requirements for materials, workmanship, handling and erection for construction of steel bridges. Abstract This British Standard, a part of the BS 5400 series, specifies requirements for the materials, workmanship, handling, transport and erection for the construction of steel bridges. Requirements are also given on inspection and testing, and supply, measurement and weighing. The first annex to the standard provides requirements on steel rivets. A second annex gives guidance on requirements of specific clauses which offer a standard of good practice. History and related standards This British Standard supersedes BS 5400-6:1980 which is withdrawn.
